The Synergy of Biosensors and DNA Nanomaterials

We are taking the field of biosensors to new heights by harnessing the power of DNA nanotechnology. By employing DNA as a versatile nanoscale biomaterial, we are transcending its traditional role as genetic and biological building blocks in living organisms. Leveraging the unparalleled properties of programmability of DNA, we can expertly design DNA base sequences that yield predictable reactions, setting the stage for the fabrication of precisely controlled 2D and 3D nanostructures at the nanoscale. The integration of these groundbreaking DNA nanostructures into a diverse array of applications, including biosensors and fluorescent probes, is propelling us to the forefront of innovative research and expanding the horizons of what is achievable in the fascinating world of nanotechnology.

A high-density receptor nano-array with a large surface area on the centimeter scale

We are breaking new ground in biosensors by developing a bio-functionalized surface that enables the uniform arrangement of various materials on a centimeter-scale surface. We achieve this by expanding 2D DNA structures to the centimeter scale and attaching sensors, such as fluorescent probes or fluorescent diamonds, with selective binding affinity for specific molecules on the functionalized surface. Key advantages of utilizing DNA structures include the ability to precisely control the distance between materials at the nanoscale and the creation of large surface areas on a centimeter scale for material arrangement. This bio-functionalized surface allows for a uniform arrangement of molecules, including sensors, at the nanoscale, demonstrating the potential of DNA nanotechnology for diverse applications.
